Born and raised in a rural community near Siem Reap as one of seven children, Hong learned early the values of self-reliance, responsibility, and community spirit. Her humble beginnings shaped a strong sense of perseverance and gratitude, driving her to learn, grow, and give back. In 2013, she began her career in the tourism and hospitality sector while pursuing graduate studies in international relations. Passionate about community development, she actively participated in initiatives supporting rural areas beyond Siem Reap. Starting as a local biking tour guide, Hong quickly rose to become a tour leader, gaining valuable experience in authentic travel experiences. During the pandemic, she founded a domestic travel startup to support local tourism. In early 2023, inspired by her vision to celebrate Cambodia’s culture and people, she established CWE Travel — Cambodia WE Travel — to create journeys that are meaningful, unique, and unforgettable.
