Kulen Mountain is a sacred mountain in Cambodia, located about 50 kilometers north of Siem Reap According to historical records, King Jayavarman II declared independence from Java from the city of Mahendraparvata in 802 CE, hence it has a significant symbolic meaning for the ancient Khmer Empire. A variety of significant religious and historical landmarks, including as the River of a Thousand Lingas, the Kulen Waterfall, and the reclining Buddha at Wat Preah Ang Thom, are located there. It is also the birthplace of the Khmer Empire.

Stop At: Phnom Kulen National Park, Cambodia

Stop At: 1000 Lingas, Siem Reap Cambodia

The lingas, which are carved in a variety of shapes and sizes, may be seen when strolling along the riverbank. Along with some of the lingas, there are engravings of other Hindu deities including Vishnu and Brahma. For anybody visiting Phnom Kulen National Park, the 1000 Linga is a stunning and revered location that cannot be missed.

Stop At: Preah Ang Thom pagoda, Cambodia

The biggest reclining Buddha statue in Cambodia may be seen in Preah Ang Thom Pagoda, which is a Buddhist temple and was carved out of a natural sandstone rock.​​​ The statue of the Buddha entering Nirvana is 18 meters tall from the bottom of the rock.

The waterfall is considered holy by both Hindus and Buddhists and is a well-liked destination for visits by both locals and visitors. A refreshing and reviving experience is swimming at Phnom Kulen Waterfall. On a hot day, it is a fantastic opportunity to cool down while taking in Cambodia’s natural beauty.
